Please note – Information for experienced Department of Education Technology teachers who are interested in mentoring opportunities
The Program
The Orbis Design and Technology 7-9 program support teachers who are new to teaching Design and Technologies in the middle years. The program aims to support teachers who are teaching out of field in this area, either early in their career or with some teaching experience under their belt.
Day 3 of the 4-day program involves a day of observation for small groups of teachers. Teachers are matched with a mentor in their chosen Design and Tech context and observe a range of classes at the mentor’s school. The day concludes with a professional conversation led by the mentor – answering questions and sharing further insights.
Program Overview

Professional Learning
This year we are providing an exciting professional learning opportunity for experienced Design and Tech to develop and refine their knowledge and skills as mentors. Led by Growth Coaching International, the ‘Essential Skills for Mentors’ program will establish clarity and confidence for mentors in their mentoring role while developing a collaborative community of practice. The program will be delivered in two online sessions in late March / early April.
