I have updated our credit card payment processor to Stripe and removed PayPal (all previous PayPal membership payments are valid). Stripe is a worldwide credit card payment processor with industry level security. Three more advantages of using Stripe as our payment gateway:
– Complete you credit card membership purchases without needing to move away from the DATTA SA website
– Purchasing a membership via mobile is easier as Stripe supports both Google Pay and Apple Pay.
– Your account becomes active instantly (no manual handling on our part needed).
DATTA SA members sign up to a yearly, non subscription membership, meaning that we require members to manually renew their membership as they expire.
As always, you can also choose to pay for your membership via Direct Deposit (accounts become active after payment is received).
Behind the scenes DATTA SA takes our website security as a top priority. We host with WP Engine a leading WordPress web host that ensures daily backups along with automated security updates. Alongside WP Engine our DNS host is Cloudflare a worldwide industry leader in preventing online web attacks, helping ensure our DATTA SA website stays online 24/7. Finally all DATTA SA executives use Google Workspace as our email and file management system, protected with Google’s 2 Step authentication process.
The only thing we ask of our members is to ensure your DATTA SA password is different to that of your other accounts (as should be best practice with all your online accounts). All user passwords are securely hashed by WordPress ensuring they are not plain text visible in our database. If you are locked out of your account click on the “forgot password” option to receive a password reset link (contact president(at)datta.sa.edu.au if you have account queries).
