The team registration fees partly help cover the cost to hire equipment, pay for volunteer and judge lunches and other bits and pieces needed to run a robotics competition.

We would love to see local businesses, academics, and adult students help judge! It's a great experience, doesn't involve any prior understanding of the competition or robotics. We'll train you up and always partner you up with 1 or 2 other judges of experience to help you out!

Additionally we also need general volunteers for the tournament. These roles are suited for Year 8+ students or adults. Schools bringing volunteers please fill out the volunteer sign up form below to help us in organising our volunteers.

Spread the word about becoming a judge or volunteer! Download this PDF. email it to your team and join in on an awesome day of STEM!

Basic Times for School teams to help you plan for buses! Judges will be provided with modifications to this time schedule as we can accommodate needs to leave earlier.

Engineering Notebooks

This year we are implementing a "pre event" judging process for engineering notebooks. This is to ensure the tournament runs on time and judges have everything they need to conduct team interviews.

We need all teams to submit engineering notebooks by 19th October 5:00 pm
If you have trouble getting the link setup with instructions below please PDF email the book to office@datta.sa.edu.au . Email DATTA SA with any issues around getting the book to us or alert us if you are not submitting a book.

Information on how to submit your engineering notebooks can be found here.

Innovate Award - linked to Engineering Notebooks

This year the innovate award which the VIQC Middle School and VRC High School has a new requirement. Details on this requirement for the award can be found here. This form should be scanned into your books and put just after the table of contents

RobotEvents

Please keep your details updated on RobotEvents (adding your additional coaches etc). We pull the CSV from RobotEvents as a means to contact coaches and without correct email contacts we can't reach all the coaches.

Internet Access

There is no public internet access we can guarantee at UniSA. Please keep this in mind when students are using Chromebooks/iPads that need to be connected to the internet for compiling.

Student Centered Program

At the heart of a VEX Robotic Competitions is the Student Centered approach demonstrated by teams across the season. Judges will be keen to see that student-centered approach which guides a number of awards handed out.

VRC - Student Centered - The Do's and Don'ts of Teams and Coaches

VIQC - Student Centered - The Do's and Don'ts of Teams and Coaches

Rubbish

Please encourage students that will be eating snacks throughout the day to place rubbish where possible (i.e chips packet, chocolate bar wrapper) back into their lunch box to help with minimising rubbish thrown in the UniSA bins.
